Facts and Questions

"QUESTION"

Is there any difference in accuracy between a servo and stepper system?

"ANSWER"

No........ in actual fact the accuracy is exactly the same. The translation of the input pulses from your computers printer port to the input stage

of the stepper or servo driver works the same way.

"QUESTION"

What type of logic or signals do your controllers accept?

"ANSWER"

Any TTL 5volt (step/direction) logic either from a computers LPT port or any other TTL compatable 5volt encoder device output.

"QUESTION"

How many amps will your opto relays take?

"ANSWER"

The opto relays supplied with all our controllers are ZERO VOLT contacts. The maximum allowable load for these contacts must not exceed 48vdc

at a maximum of 1 amp.

"QUESTION"

How will your opto relays drive my spindal or coolant pump motors?

"ANSWER"

In most cases were the load of a device exceeds the maximum allowable opto volt or current rating, a slave Relay or Contactor is used to drive heavy
loads such as large spindal or coolant pump motors. 24- 48 vdc relay or contactor coils sets are ussally used that don,t exceed the optos 1amp rating.

If larger coils need to be run you may need to use a slave relay to run a further master slave relay. WARNING Electric spindal motors or pumps are
High Voltage!! Besure to consult a electrical engineer if you are not qualified.

"QUESTION"

Can I use my own Stepper or Servo motors with your controllers?

"ANSWER"

Check with us first to confirm these items are compatiable with our controllers. You need to supply us with amperage and volt ratings, the brand or
make of motor, how many wires it has, and the approx. motor frame or size.

"QUESTION"

How do I know what system to "BUY" for my particular application?

"ANSWER"

"QUESTION"

Whats the differnce between a servo and stepper system?

"ANSWER"

A servo system is a closed loop system, meaning that you will never run the risk of losing a step should your stepper or servo motor stall due to incorrect
or excessive cutting rapid speed values. This is ussally considered an OVERKILL or extra expense in the use of plasma or router tables that require the
cutting of 2... 1 / 2 D shapes. However a Servo Closed loop system may need to be considered for complex 3D toolmaking or modeling work.

"QUESTION"

What software do you recommend using?

"ANSWER"

MACH 3 by Artsoft .......to learn more CLICK HERE

"QUESTION"

What does step resolution mean?

"ANSWER"

In the enviroment of a stepper system, most standard stepper motors are divided into 200 steps per revolution of the shaft. These are the notches felt with
your hand when indexing the motor slowly. The adjustable or preset value of a motion controllers resolution of say FULL STEP means that the finest
accuracy possible is 200 steps per revolution of the shaft or 1.8deg. If the controller runs in 1/10th micro step, this is 200 steps x 10 which equals 2000
steps per revolution of the shaft........and so on.

"QUESTION"

Can I adjust the output axis amperage to suit my own stepper motor?

"ANSWER"

Yes.....The amperage value is programed with the correct value resistor. In the case of package deals or custom orders where the stepper motors are
supplied, these values are pre-set at the factory for you. If unsure of the pre-set resistor value required for your own stepper motor, besure to contact us
first upon using the system. Permanent damage to the motion controller or stepper motor may occur otherwise.

"QUESTION"

Are all your servo and stepper system package deals READY TO USE?

"ANSWER"

Absolutely.....We do not supply kits or surplus used parts!! All our products are brandnew ready to use.
Most of our systems can be up and running in as little as 20 mins.

"QUESTION"

Do I need to buy extra power supplies?

"ANSWER"

All our package deals include the power supply and all other items nessasary for that particular combination.
However if you purchase a bare bones
motion controller by its self, items such as power supplies, motors cables etc........must all be purchased additionally meaning they are NOT INCLUDED
in the price.
