Peter has also added a 4" rotary table to expand the machines capability

Peter proudly looks on at his latest PUMA Turret Mill retrofit.
As the saying goes.................just like a bought one

The Manual PUMA Mill was supplied to Peter by the guys at Complete Machine Tools (Brisbane AUSTRALIA)


This turret knee mill is one heavy lump of machinery, offering true precision and rigidity one would expect from its class


The directly driven 4" Indexing table seen in the above photo, uses one of our NEMA 23 / 370oz.in hi torque stepper motors



Our latest controller and power supply sit comfortably inside the famous STANLEY polyethelene tool cabinet.

All power supplies now include an amperage meter for measuring how hard the stepper motors are working.......especially important for heavy milling applications.


Recent below photos show the adation of the quill powered by a 1200oz.in stepper motor

The unit is supplied as a kit from Elrod Macinery USA http://www.elrodmachine.com/

Notice the direct drive simplicity of the 2550oz.in NEMA 34 stepper motor using a heavy duty disc type misalignment coupler.

The table cuts 4 - 6mm marine grade aluminium at a blistering speed of 100mm per second

As seen in the above photo the gantry is built from heavy duty steel RHS box section



Instant boat panels.............ready to be formed and placed in the welding jig


The customized system shown above required heavy duty flange mount enclosures to support the additional weight of a 1100 watt power supply

Very heavy duty Z slide supports the weight of the large 10HP 3phs spindle motor with its pnematic tool changer
